日本にアルミサッシが登場したのは昭和7年頃である。以降昭和40年頃から普及し50年以上ガラスとサッシ(窓枠)の関係は変わらない。この製品は、窓枠を取り払うという常識を超えた挑戦をして具現化されている。窓枠を埋め込み隠すという一見すると理解するのはたやすいが、近代化が進み多くの物が完成している今日、既成の常識を打ち破ることは容易ではない。この変革はデザインによる偉業と評価する。（選定委員／北村 光彦）

LW is a window that provides a bright, comfortable, and enriching life to the dwellers. LW has not only high thermal insulation, but a design and structure that allow you to feel connected to the world outside. The frame-in design concealing all frames from people inside the room, the lock handle embedded into the vertical frame, and the structure that allows the window to be fully open – these features bring comfort, integrating the interior and exterior spaces when the windows are opened, while still linking them together when the windows are closed. Aluminum sashes first appeared in Japan around 1932. Since it became commonly available around 1965, the structural relationship between glass and sash (window frame) has not changed for over 50 years. This product embodies an unprecedented endeavor in removing window frames, which was beyond the common sense. Embedding and concealing a window frame is seemingly easy to understand, but it is not easy to break the established common sense, when modernization has reached its maturity with many ideas and inventions perfected.
