砂時計のかたちをしたソーラーランタン。最大の特徴は、アクリルに封入された全方位受光可能な球状太陽電池スフェラー®である。太陽電池は光を記憶＝記録している。粒状の太陽電池に光があたると、砂時計の砂が落ちるように、少しずつ電気を蓄える。夜、ランタンを上下ひっくり返すと、昼間蓄えた電気でやさしい光がともる。晴れた日は晴れた分だけ、雨の日はささやかに。その光は昼間窓辺に届いた光。そんな発想から、暮らしの中での新たな太陽電池のあり方と、スフェラーの可能性を感じられるプロダクトを目指した。光に愛着をもちつつ、日中の出来事を語り合う時間や暮らしとエネルギーの関係を考える時間が生まれることを願っている。（解説／graf、スフェラーパワー）2016年9月リニューアル ¥30,000（税抜き）

球状太陽電池スフェラーの特性をうまく利用した革新的なソーラーランタンである。砂時計を思わせる佇まいは、太陽光による蓄電と逆さまにすることにより照明が灯る機能を違和感なくリンクさせている。中心部分に施された削り出しの木製パーツや、精密な嵌合によりインテリアに馴染む美しい外観を実現しており、粒状のスフェラーがアクリルの中に浮かぶ姿は不思議なアートのオブジェのように見るものを魅了する。（選定委員／福定 良佑）

The most noteworthy feature of this hourglass-shaped solar lantern is the spherical solar cell Sphelar® which is enclosed in acrylic and captures light from all directions. The solar cell “memorizes”, or in other words, “records” light. When light shines on the solar cell balls, the electricity accumulates little by little, just like the sand falling in an hourglass. When the lantern is turned over upside down at night, a gentle light generated by the sunshine during the day turns on, brightly on sunny days, more gently when it rains. The light is sourced by the light it collects by the window during the day. The product was aimed to propose a new way of utilizing solar cells in daily life and explore the possibilities of Sphelar. We hope the product will induce people to cherish light, and create a time to talk about their day or provoke thoughts on the relationship between lifestyle and energy. The innovative solar lantern takes full advantage of the features of the spherical solar cell Sphelar. The form which reminds us of an hourglass links the function of cumulative solar energy and the operation of lighting when the lantern is turned upside down. The central component made from carving solid wood and the delicate fit of the elements realize a beautiful appearance to harmonize with the interior.
