これまでの遊具の形にとらわれない、新たな子どもの遊びを探求する遊具シリーズ。様々な領域の研究者や、デザイナーとともに毎年新たなラインナップを増やしている。MEBI US[メビウス]は、メビウスの輪のようにねじれた有機的な形状が特徴の幼児向けスプリング遊具。視点によって多様な表情を見せる豊かな造形性が、子どもたちの想像力をかき立て「滑り降りる・しがみつく・腰掛ける・揺らす」など様々な動作を促す。子どもたちは、この遊具と触れるたび、そして遊具が動くたびに、新しい遊びを発見する。（解説／株式会社ジャクエツ）2015年11月発売 ¥1,800,000（税抜き）

「子どもの遊び」という重要なテーマに焦点を当て、最良の環境を創るためにデザインという切り口をいかしたこのプロジェクトは高い評価に値する。そのアウトプットとしての遊具は、どれも既存のイメージを一新するもので、かつ高い機能性が備わっている。ジャンルの垣根を超えたプロフェッショナルにより進められている取り組みは、子どもにまつわる社会問題の解決にも関わることが想定できる。今後のさらなる発展にも期待したい。（選定委員／福定 良佑）

A new series of playground equipment exploring new ways for children to play, free of conventional style. The products lineup is increasing every year, in collaboration with researchers in various fields as well as designers. MEBIUS is a spring-type playground equipment for toddlers, featuring an organic shape twisted like a Mobius ring. The rich creativity that enabled various expressions that change according to viewpoint, helps to stimulate the children's imagination and encourages various actions such as "sliding down, clinging, sitting down, shaking". This project, which focuses on the important theme of "children's play" and approaches from a design aspect to create the best environment for it, deserves high praise. As the output, all of the playground equipment has high functionality and rejuvenates conventional impressions. It suggests how the efforts by professionals across boundaries of genres will contribute to solving social problems concerning children. I look forward to further developments in the future.
