左官で使用する珪藻土の吸放湿性に着目し、バスマットとしてデザインしその市場を創り出した革新的でマーケットを代表するブランドだ。左官の鏝を使って一つ一つ手で仕上げる製法で、一見シンプルで無機質に見えるデザインの中に、優しさを醸す工芸品のような仕上がりだ。珪藻土の持つ驚くべき吸水性を市場に知らしめたインパクトと共に、バスタイム後の煩わしさを解消するのに欠かせない逸品となった。（選定委員／稲垣 揚平）

Diatomaceous earth is collected from a layer of earth formed by accumulated phytoplankton that had inhabited ancient seas and lakes. When it is fired, it becomes a porous structure (a state in which there are numerous micrometer-sized holes) and becomes a substance that is rich in water absorption and hygroscopicity. The bathmats are handmade one by one. They are able to absorb water from the soles of the feet instantly after bath, and when the second step is taken, the soles are not wet anymore. The absorbed water starts to dry up immediately, so although the wet surface may feel slightly cool due to heat of evaporation, the next person taking the bath can use it with a dry feel to it. It made the market aware of the amazing water absorption property of diatomaceous earth, and at the same time became an indispensable item to eliminate the bothersome feel after bath.
