家庭ごみなどの収集ごみを自動的に荷箱に押し込み圧縮する装置を備えるプレス式のゴミ収集車である。いわゆる“働く自動車”として街を支えるゴミ収集車は、街の風景をカタチづくる要素となっている。これまでのゴミ収集車は実用性を重視しており、デザインへの配慮はなされて来なかった。この収集車はスタイリングを意識したデザインを上手く取り入れており、見過ごされがちな実用車のデザインを重視した点を評価した。（選定委員／谷村 秀）

Press Master PB7 is a car that plays a major role in keeping people's lives and towns sanitary. In order to improve safety during collection work, a high-mounted rear panel is adopted where lamps and displays are consolidated in one upper rear space to give alerts to a wide area. The new structure-GOU-FRAME achieves the class's largest volume with a robust body that can withstand high compression loading. The one-handed open/close rear door and low inlet reduce the burden of collection work. Pursuing the coolness of a car that works in a reliable functional shape, and in harmony with the landscape, the color of the early morning sky was used. It is our hope for the workers to feel joy and pride, and for the local community and society to look forward to the garbage truck to come around and clean the city. This is a press-type garbage truck equipped with a device that automatically pushes collected garbage, such as household garbage, into a packing box. The garbage truck supports our city-life as a so-called “working car” and is an element that shapes our cityscape. Until now, garbage trucks focused on practicality, and no consideration was given to their design. This collection car has a style-conscious design and has been highly evaluated for the emphasis on design of a practical vehicle that is often overlooked. (Selection Committee / TANIMURA Shigeru)
